Glyco Reset Ingredients: The Full List and What Each Name Means

Quick answer

The Glyco Reset ingredients are chromium (as chromium picolinate) 0.7 mcg and a proprietary blend of 200 mg naming 21 ingredients: plant extracts, amino acids and a licorice compound. The label prints no amount for any single blend name, and no study has tested the product itself.

The list01

What ingredients are in Glyco Reset?

Glyco Reset contains chromium and a 21-name proprietary blend. The blend holds 13 plant extracts, 7 amino-acid-type ingredients and one licorice-derived compound.

The label as given to us prints chromium (as chromium picolinate) at 0.7 mcg, which is 2% of the Daily Value. It prints the blend as one total, 200 mg. Other ingredients, such as a liquid base, are not in what we have, so follow your bottle.

Printed order02

What is the full Glyco Reset ingredients list?

The Glyco Reset ingredients list below follows the printed order. Federal rules put the names of a proprietary blend in descending order by weight (21 CFR 101.36 (eCFR), Supplement Facts and proprietary blends).

Tap each line03

What does each Glyco Reset ingredient do?

No source shows what any ingredient does at the label amount, because the label gives none. Tap a line for what it is and what sources say.

  1. What it is. Chromium is a trace mineral. Picolinate is the form bound to a small acid. NIH's Adequate Intake is 20 to 35 mcg a day by age and sex.

Read it with care. The label amount is about 2% of the 35 mcg Daily Value. The trials NIH describes for diabetes used 1,000 mcg a day, and NIH says later results were inconsistent. No trial tested this bottle. (NIH ODS, Chromium fact sheet for professionals) (Balk 2007, Chromium and glucose metabolism (review))

  2. What it is. One total weight for twenty-one named ingredients, listed in printed order. Federal rules let a label give the blend total and the names in descending order of weight.

Read it with care. The label does not say how much of each name is in the 200 mg, so no single ingredient can be compared to a studied amount. Every one of them is below 200 mg. (21 CFR 101.36 (eCFR), Supplement Facts and proprietary blends)

  3. What it is. Gymnema sylvestre is a woody vine whose leaf is sold as an extract. LiverTox says leaf extracts lowered blood sugar in lab studies, and that effectiveness in diabetes has not been shown.

Read it with care. The usual supplement amount is far above what could fit in a shared 200 mg. Because gymnema leaf extracts lowered blood sugar in lab studies, anyone on diabetes medicine should ask a pharmacist first. (LiverTox, Gymnema)

  4. What it is. Both contain caffeine. The label does not print a caffeine amount, so the caffeine in a dropper is unknown.

Read it with care. Green tea extract supplements have been linked to liver injury in case reports, at much larger amounts than could fit in the blend. Guarana can raise heart rate. No caffeine figure is on the label. (MSK, Green Tea (About Herbs)) (LiverTox, Green Tea) (MSK, Guarana (About Herbs)) (MedlinePlus, Caffeine)

  5. What it is. A salt of glycyrrhizin, the sweet compound in licorice root. Sloan Kettering says the most common licorice side effect is high blood pressure with low potassium.

Read it with care. The label gives no amount. Licorice is listed as a caution with blood pressure medicines, diuretics and insulin or metformin. (MSK, Licorice (About Herbs)) (NCCIH, Licorice Root)

  6. What it is. Five root extracts. Asian ginseng has some small cardiometabolic findings in a 2022 review; forskolin (from coleus) may interact with blood pressure medicine and blood thinners.

Read it with care. We found no source for maca, eleuthero or astragalus on blood sugar. No amounts are printed, so none of this can be tied to the bottle. (NCCIH, Asian Ginseng) (MSK, Forskolin / Coleus forskohlii (About Herbs))

  7. What it is. Extracts sold for weight, antioxidant or heat claims. The label makes none of these claims.

Read it with care. Sloan Kettering says African mango may not suit people on diabetes medicine, and a review of raspberry ketone found mostly animal and cell evidence. (MSK, Irvingia gabonensis / African mango (About Herbs)) (Li 2022, Raspberry ketone metabolic activities (review))

  8. What it is. Seven amino-acid-type ingredients. They are building blocks and signalling compounds that are also made in the body and found in food.

Read it with care. We found no source linking any of them to blood sugar at these amounts. The label prints no amounts. (NIH ODS, Dietary Supplements: What You Need to Know)

One scale for the milligram lines, so the bars compare fairly: the bars are drawn from the label's own amounts, not from any result. A bar says how much is on the label, never how well it works. Rows with no milligram amount have no bar.

Known and unknown04

What is known and not known about the ingredients in Glyco Reset?

The label settles what is named and one amount for chromium. It leaves open almost every question a careful buyer would ask.

Cautions05

Which Glyco Reset ingredients carry cautions?

Seven of the named ingredients appear in safety sources with a caution. The sources describe the ingredient, not this bottle.

Gymnema ask first

Showed blood-sugar-lowering effects in lab and animal work, so people on diabetes medicine should ask a pharmacist (LiverTox, Gymnema).

Licorice compound ask first

Glycyrrhizin is linked to high blood pressure and low potassium. Diuretics and blood pressure medicine are on the caution list (MSK, Licorice (About Herbs)).

Green tea liver

Extracts have been linked to liver injury in case reports. (LiverTox, Green Tea).

Guarana caffeine

Seeds contain caffeine and may raise heart rate. Stimulants are not advised together (MSK, Guarana (About Herbs)).

Coleus forskohlii pressure

May add to blood pressure medicine and blood thinners (MSK, Forskolin / Coleus forskohlii (About Herbs)).

African mango ask first

The source says people taking diabetes drugs should not take it (MSK, Irvingia gabonensis / African mango (About Herbs)).

Ginseng is the seventh: people with diabetes should consult a provider first (NCCIH, Asian Ginseng). More on side effects.

The amounts06

Are the ingredients in Glyco Reset at studied amounts?

No. Where a source gives an amount, it is far above what the Glyco Reset label could supply.

The chromium trial NIH describes used 1,000 mcg a day, about 1,400 times the label's 0.7 mcg (NIH ODS, Chromium fact sheet for professionals).

For plants, the whole blend is 200 mg across 21 names. So no single plant can reach the 400 mg-three-times-a-day gymnema amount LiverTox lists (LiverTox, Gymnema).

Small is not the same as safe. See the chromium page and blend page for more.

Your bottle07

How do you check an ingredients list like this one?

Read the Supplement Facts panel, count the named ingredients, find any amounts and look for what is missing. Five checks cover it.

  • Does each ingredient have an amount, or only a blend total?
  • Is a caffeine amount printed?
  • Is there a study of the product itself?

Keep taking prescribed medicine, and tell your doctor and pharmacist about every supplement (ADA, Vitamins, Minerals, and Supplements (diabetes.org)). Only blood tests diagnose diabetes (NIDDK, Diabetes Tests & Diagnosis). Fainting or a seizure is an emergency: call 911 (Mayo Clinic, Hypoglycemia).

FAQ08

Questions about the Glyco Reset ingredients

How many ingredients are in Glyco Reset?

Glyco Reset names 22 ingredients: chromium as chromium picolinate, plus 21 in a 200 mg proprietary blend. The blend holds 13 plant extracts, 7 amino-acid-type ingredients and a licorice-derived compound. Other ingredients are not in what we have.

Does Glyco Reset contain caffeine?

Green tea leaf extract and guarana seed extract both contain caffeine, but the label prints no caffeine amount. The amount in a dropper is unknown.

Is there licorice in Glyco Reset?

The blend lists monoammonium glycyrrhizinate, a licorice-derived salt. Sloan Kettering says licorice's most common side effect is high blood pressure with low potassium. The label prints no amount, so ask a pharmacist if you take diuretics.

Which Glyco Reset ingredient is listed first?

Maca root extract is first in the printed order, and L-carnitine HCl is last. Federal rules list a blend's names in descending order by weight, so maca likely weighs the most. No weights are printed.

Does Glyco Reset have added sugar or alcohol?

We do not know. Sugar, alcohol and other ingredients are not in what we have. Read your own bottle, and ask the order desk at +1 (302) 200-3480 if the label leaves something out.

Are Glyco Reset ingredients tested for purity?

We found no published lab report. The lot and CoA numbers are seller references, not results. A USP mark would show testing for contents, and none appears on the label we have.
